We are excited to reflect on what has been happening in our Community Development, Education, and Healthcare programs and ministries in and around Jacmel, Haiti, throughout the first 7 months of 2024. Check out the impact this Coalition is having in Haiti by viewing the three Impact Reports in the PDF below.

Despite ongoing and increasing unrest, unimaginable inflation impacting even the most basic and essential items like food and fuel, and difficulty acquiring supplies within Haiti, our Primary Care Clinic and PT/OT Rehab Clinic both remain open daily, with a full staff ready to care for and serve the needs of their patients. We were excited to welcome our first staff Occupational Therapist in April, and our rehab patient visits have doubled since then. From January through July, our PCC clinic averaged 50 patients EACH DAY (and 1,300 patients in July—our highest number!), further underscoring that the physical needs within our communities are tremendous and our staff are doing all they can to assist.

Due to your generous support of our education programs, CCH has provided daily meals to more than 500 students each day, and that will resume as soon as schools reconvene on October 1st. Many students also attended Summer Camp at their school, combining fun and learning and also eating a meal together. And after a successful school year, school principals and teachers spent their summers learning and preparing to introduce new techniques and strategies into their classrooms.

Our Community Development staff has also been busy visiting and supporting many communities, providing learning opportunities for community leaders to grow, assessing programs (such as the latrine program and the goat program) and visiting community members involved in these programs, and preparing for a new school year of gardening education and training.
