Hike for Haiti

Date: Saturday March 29, 2025
Location: Lake Accotink (Springfield, VA), or virtually anywhere

Demontreuil is a community with thousands of residents located 4 miles from CCH’s Clinics in Jacmel. CCH partners with the “OCASE” farming co-op and EMEVO Primary School in Demontrueil to provide leadership development and teacher training. This resource benefits local farmers who grow crops such as tomatoes, okras, beans, and plantains. Despite being densely populated, Demontreuil faces economic challenges with limited commercial activities.

On March 29, 2025, we invite you to Walk with Us 4 miles around Lake Accotink in support of Haitian families. Participants can join us in person at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, Virginia, or hike/walk/move on your own as a virtual participant. We’re all coming together to raise awareness & funds for CCH’s critical education, healthcare, and community development work in Jacmel, Haiti.

Snacks, beverages and a food truck will be available for in-person participants. It’ll be a fun day!

Registration

Registration is $40 per individual, and includes an event T-shirt. Register online beginning January 6, 2025. Online registration closes 3/17/25 at 11:59pm. Once you’re registered, we’ll provide you with an email detailing next steps – including how to set up your personal fundraising page.

Event Date

“Hike for Haiti” is happening on Saturday, March 29th, both in person and virtually/remotely.

Hiking Trail

Participants will walk 4 miles around Lake Accotink, starting and finishing at a picnic shelter near the marina. Trails are mostly flat and a combination of paved and gravel surfaces. Virtual participants can hike, bike, swim, walk or move however suits them best and then upload a video or picture of your fitness activity on the private Facebook page. Not on Facebook? Pictures can be emailed to abby@cchaiti.org, and we’ll post them for you!

Funding CCH’s Work in Haiti

The Hike for Haiti Challenge is crucial in helping CCH achieve annual fundraising goals so that we can treat more clinic patients, serve more school students, and lift up more communities in Haiti. We make it easy and fun to get your friends and family on board. You can set up your personal fundraising page right after you register. We will have PRIZES for individual fundraisers (each level gets you more swag), and the team (of up to 8 people) that raises the most money for CCH.
